The Eagles punched out 8 hits to Elon’s six, and that in itself was the difference, as two of those hits came in the tenth frame off C. K. Siler and added up to the W'inning canto. Behind Art Fowler, Elon took the lead with two runs in the fourth in ning, but McCrary tied it in the sev enth with two counters of their own. Stevie “Staming” Walker was the leading threat for the Christians getting on base five times and turning in a fine same afield in addition. Both 'Fowler and Siler pitched well, but the McCrarv team, which included Matty Tomokins. formerly of Carolina and the Greensboro Pat riots, was a little too tough a nut to crack.
