The Panthers had turn ed back Elon 11 to 4 in an equally ragged contest in early season. The Christians were away on top with a single run in the first on a double, a sacrifice and an infield out, but High Point knot ted it in the second with a hit batsman, an infield out and a sin gle. Elon rebounded with four In the third on a walk, three er rors and a single hit, but High Point got two of them back on a single hit. So it went until the bottom of the ninth when High Point ral lied to come from behind, scoring two runs to knot the count at 7-all. Only a quick rescue act by A1 Lovelace halted the rally at that point. The lanky freshman entered the game with bases loaded and fannel Bill Formydu- val to end the rally. Lovelace went on to retire High Point in order in the tenth and eleventh, but Bob Pharr dupli cated for the Panthers. Then came Elon’s winning rally in the twelfth, with singles by Buddy Montgom ery, Buddy Way, Bobby Sharpe and A1 Lovelace combined with an error for five counters.
