Dr. Frasure has work ed with every state ad ministration in West Vir ginia since 1933 and per sonally developed the West Virginia Merit System while serving as a Social Security advisor in West Virginia in 1940 and 1941. He is the author of a nuniber of books, some of which are widely used as text books in universities and colleges all over the United States. ^ ^ , He holds the A.B.,M.A. and Ph. D. degrees from Ohio State University, and in addition he also Sixty-seven Elon Col lege seniors are now en gaged in practice teach ing in schools of this area, some in Burlington City Schools and some in the various units of the Alamance County schools system. The group went into the classrooms some weeks ago and have now finish ed almost half of their assignments, with their teaching chores to be completed before the close of the spring se mester at Elon College the third week in May. The practice teachers, as listed by Dr. Arnold C. Strauch, includes twenty-four in the high school field, seven in the junior high school field, and thirty-six in the pri mary, elementary and middle school fields. Those teaching at Wal ter M. Williams High School of Burlington are Ronald Edgerton, of Me- tuchin, N.J., in history; Julia Treece, of Concord, in math; Libby Sanders of Burlington, in business education; Ellen Jacobs, of Alexandria, Va., in business education; and Elaine Tarrington, of Buffalo Junction, Va., in physical education. Those teaching at Broadview Junior High are Carolyn Little, of Roanoke Rapids, in math; Jo Nelle Walker, of Irmo, S.C., in history; Tom Fulcher, of Farmville, Va., in social science; Linda Wesley, of Rox- boro, in English; Mary Lute, of Haw River, in English; Kay Rivers, of Reidsville, in English;and Shirl Wilson, of Durham, in English. Teaching at Jordan Sellars High School in Burlington are Jerry Webb, of Asheboro, in history; and Carol Mc Kinney, of Bakersville, in history. Those teaching at Tur- rentine Junior High in Burlington are George Simon, of Wilmington, Del., in history; Karen Melberg, of Lodlow, Mass., in math; and Shir ley Faircloth, of Burling ton, in English. Teaching at Grove Park Elementary School in Burlington are Nancy MacIntyre , of Elon Col lege; Denise Ahladas, of Burlington; and Ellen Bunton, of Selbyville, Del. All are in elementary ed ucation. Those assigned to Maple Avenue School in Burlington, all in elemen tary education, are Kathy Cobb, of Burlington; Laura Smith, of Burling- DR. C. M.
