Elon guard Kim Cockerham led the Christians in the scoring department with 20 points while teammate Charlie Williamson collected 14 points and 15 big rebounds. The Christians have posted wins over Liberty Baptist 118-94, Lenoir Rhyne 118-115, and High Point 87-69, Lenoir Rhyne 93-78, Hanover College 88-86. The Christians played Mars Hill Monday night, and the press deadline prohibited us from telling you the score. Elon travels to Atlantic Christian tonight for their last game before returning home Jan. 5, 1977 to face Belmont Abbey. Under the coaching direc tion of Bill Miller and Bill Morningstar, the Christians will be hoping for an excellent season. Each team held off the other’s attack in the third period, thus leaving the pressure on the Elon Fighting Christians in the fourth. With only one minute and ten seconds remaining, quarterback Mike Currin connected with Keith Richardson to set up a 25-yard pass play. Thus sifter regulation play it was 7-7. Elon won the toss in the SGA to try a 39-yard field goal. The fans waited and it was Good, thus giving UCA a 10-7 win over Elon. Odom made only one of six field goals during the afternoon, that being the winning one. So, it’s on to Texas for the University of Central Arkansas to face Texas A&I in a nationally televised game. Arkansas enters the game with a 9-2 record while Texas is 12-0, Elon finishes their season II-l with Elon finishing #3 in the nation for 1976. A restructuring of the government is underway, and plans are being worked out for sprirfg weekend Yes, there will be a concert. A play will be given in February with an all-Elon cast and director-producer. The rest of our programs both current, and forthcoming, I hope will benefit all who care to use them. As you’re on your way home for Christmas, think about what you have done to help the conditions here at the college, and plan to do more in the spring. We exist only to serve.
