March 4, 1993 Page X2 Bill Harvey/The Pendulum Class must go on so Allen Griggs of Jordan Center chipped away at his icy windshield Friday morning. The big chill that wasn't Some prayed for a blizzard to hit Elon College so they could sleep through their Friday classes. Others hoped the snowy blast would dodge Elon College so they could keep their weekend plans. Snow was dumped all around Elon from Raleigh to Winston-Salem Thursday and Friday, but the campus got only an icy layer. Meanwhile campus secretaries ^ were busy fielding calls from students about the class schedule and the college's snow policy. Just in case the wintry weather should strike again, here's the policy: "The college remains open during snow storms and other inclement weather to serve resident students and commuters who live near the campus. However, if weather conditions are so severe as to render it dangerous for students to reach the college, those who elect not to come to campus on that particular day will not be penalized for failure to do so." Faculty who live some distance from campus and who might be prevented from traveling should make arrangements with colleagues to cover their classes. Elon College faculty and staff members are expected to be prudent but to take all reasonable measures to reach the campus during inclement weather. Administrative offices will be open. If a decision is made to alter the class schedule it will be made as early as possible and will be announced over the following regional television and radio stations; TV: WFMY-2 Greensboro WGHP-8 High Point WTVD-ll Durham WXII-12 Winston-Salem WGGT Greensboro WRAL-5 Raleigh Radio: WSOE 89.3 Elon College WUNC91.5FM Chapel Hill BlOO 100.3 FM High Point WBBB920AM Burlington WPCM 101.1 FM Burlington 1 Room guide for Campus Center ■ See Campus Center floor plans on Pages 6-7.
