• • - •• . - •- - • • ’ ' • Page 18* Thursday, November 6, 2003 itjjn ill i' A & E The Pendulum Elon alum authors book, returns for signing In campus shop Kaitlyn North A&E Editor Elon’s notorious campus has been immortalized in a book, and it is not “The Princeton Review.” Tesa Jones, 1972 graduate of Elon, will be on campus Saturday promoting her book “Cobwebs of Time,” a novel set by the shore of Lake Mary Nell. “Anyone who has gone to Elon caTi relate to this story,” Jones said. “Anyone who has gone to college an relate to this.” 1’hc story involves a pair of bnithers who attend Elon in (he early ‘70s. "Men have found it n)uch more enjoyable than they expccted from a hook with a rose on the covcr." Jones said, "It is lold IVDtii a man's pcrsjKtlivo.” Much of the action in the story lakes place by the lake, which Jones calls "defiiiitley fundamen tal." “Half of the book is at Elon. and Elon is really a character,” she said. “As the story pr9gress- es, the characters grow and the campus evolves.” The book also visits areas in Burlington, Gibsjonville, The Cutting Board and the forest where the Greek courts are cur rently located. “Cobwebs,” which was pub lished a year and a half ago, has received critical acclaim in the Mid-Atlantic region. “When you write something down, you put a piece of yourself out there. 1 ve really enjoyed good reviews from the press about this book,” Jones said. Jones, who was an education major anti lived in .Staley and Virginia dorms while attending Elon, says she is enthusiastic to visit the campus over Homecoming weekend and sign copies of the book in the campus shop.
