Elon University will nnale every attempt to liolcl Commence
ment exercises Under the Oaks on Saturday, May 21 at 9:30 a.m.
If the weather forecast for Saturday predicts rain that will clear
during the morning hours, the university may delay the start of
the outdoor ceremony until 10:30 a.m. If conditions do not im
prove, Commencement exercises will be moved to Alumni Gym
in Koury Athletic Center. Updated weather information and the
location of Commencement will be available at 336-278-RAIN
(7246) and www.elon.edu/e-net.
If Commencement is moved to Alumni Gym, each graduate
will be limited to two guests. The two guests of approximately
1140 graduates will fill Alumni Gym. Graduates were Instruct
ed to pick up two rain location tickets in Alamance 109 (Office
of Student Life) beginning May 2. It is the responsibility of the
graduates to give these tickets to those who will use them May
21.
There will be two stages, one in Alumni Gym and one in Jor
dan Gym. Graduates will remain in Jordan Gym. The entire pro
gram will be seen in both locations on large screens. Graduates
will walk across the Alumni Gym stage to receive their degrees.
Commencement exercises will also be broadcast via closed-
circuit television to several campus locations. Tickets are not
required at these locations. Families and guests are encouraged
to meet their graduates at the post-Commencement receptions
held in the same buildings. Commencement closed-circuit view
ing and receptions will be hosted by academic departments in
the locations listed above.

Parking
Additional parking will be available at the Danieley Center, the East Park
ing Lot, and Rhodes Stadium. A small parking lot located behind the
Under the Oaks seating area will be closed to general parking but open
to cars bringing elderly guests or guests with special needs. Guests can
be dropped off at this location, and drivers will be asked to move to a
designated public parking area.

Elon University will produce professional video
of this year’s commencement events including
Baccalaureate, Commencement Under the
Oaks (undergraduate), MBA Commencement
and the Elon School of Law Commencement.
Recordings available for events held earlier
in the year include the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi
Kappa Phi inductions and the Black Excellence
Awards.
Each event is available for $20 (shipping
included). Sales tables will be staffed at
Baccalaureate and Commencement Under the
Oaks. You can also purchase the DVDs online
