Teaching To a child thrust into a strange world, a teacher is the best thing that can happen. A teacher is courage with Kleen ex in its pocket, sympathy strug gling with a snow-suit, and pa tience with papers to grade. Teachers spend 12 hours a day searching for truth and the other 12 searching for errors. A teacher does not rally mind sniffles, squirmings, stomach aches and spills. Neither does she disin tegrate before tears, fights, futili ty, excuses, parents who spout, little boys who shout and little girls who poiit. Most of all a teacher is some body w h o likes somebody else’s children — and has strength left to go to the PTA meeting. —Ga. Education Journal Senior Class Briefs Clyde O. McDaniel Seem.ingly, the senior class is a regular beehive with all sorts of activities going on inside. There were over 40 seniors who “crossed the burning sands” of student teaching last quarter. They can now take a breather, while around 40 more students venture into the realm of the public school system. Among the students who were graduated at the end of the first I quarter are; William Hilliard, Eli |Bracy, Eveleo.a ■ liitcKell,. Judith [Nixon. Jannie Bass, Nancy Fer- I ree, and Fleming Pearce. ; We are proud to boast that Major Boyd is captain of the bas ketball team. It makes the senior > class feel even more egoti.s^ic when we enumerate the seniors on the football team. Among them were: Robert Gordon, Luther Mc- Keilhan, Frederick Rodgers Charles Johnson, Jack Thompson, Jack Wright, James Ebron, Harold Davis, and Eugene Hunter. Meanwhile, under the advisor- ship of Mr. D. A. Williams, the senior class is bu.sy making plans for “G, Day.” These plans include outlines for (1) Cap and Gown Day (2) Purchasing a gift for the College (4) Class Night (5) Com- mencement (6) Junior-Senior Dance, and let’s not forget — The National Teachers Examinaton.
