Lloyd Parker, FSU’s
bruising 6.2, 195 pound,
defensive halfback, has
signed an undisclosed fig
ure contract with the Den
ver Broncos of the Amer
ican Football Associa
tion.
Having received let
ters from the St. Louis
Cardinals, the Dallas
Cowboys, the New York
Giants, and the Kansas
City Chiefs, the football
track star still remains
a bronco with the Denver
Broncs.
After signing as a free
agent with the Broncs, the
Jacksonville native was
told by the Chiefs that
he was supposed to have
been drafted by them in
the 16th round.
Parker should be a boon
to the Denver club. He
is not only rugged, but
has tremendous speed.
On the Jacksonville track
club, the booming sprint
er recorded a time of 9.8
in the hundred yard dash.
He bettered his mark to
9.6 as an FSU Bronc
cinderman and anchored
the winning 440 sprint re
lay team to phenomenal
success.
In four years of high
school football, Lloyd was
a defensive halfback and a
tugging tonnage fullback.
He continued the fullback
chore at FSU for three
years, then went back to
defense in his senior
year.
