WILFONG She stands alone with her surroundings and dares to be different in color, speech, dress, and all other aspects of day to day living. The Black woman - the best wo man. The sister of today must come to realize that if she wants to be respected she must first respect herselfo As one looks around campus you will realize the necked- ness of many of our black and beautiful sisters. As the little child wishes not to have a toy that is used, no man wishes to have a used woman. By nature man is attracted to a woman and a woman to a man. In light of this a woman must realize the less that she wears the more attraction a man will have for her. But she must ask herself this question what is he attracted to. It is a known fact that what a woman will trap a man with may be what she will lose him with. In a meeting of the two sexes should there not be a mental understanding be fore there is a physical one. You Black woman who is beautiful by nature must come to realize that you do not need make up and other arti cles to hide your natural beau ty. Lipstick was not made for your already many colored lips. You stand alone with your surroundings and you are dif ferent in many ways as color, speech, dress, love, and dreams..,,A BLACK WOMAN beautiful by nature. The Situation By William Stevenson We, the Black people some times feel there is nothing we can do about the situation we are in. We might some times ask ourselves if our sit uation is not largely caused by our own attitudes. I some times ask myself those ques tions about the situation I am in and most of them are caus ed by my own attitude. The reason is that, if you take the average Blackman today, he would not stand up to anyone; that has an atti tude of some sort. He would either walk away, or start a commotion of violence, there again as I say is a feeling and situation caused by your own attitude. i ■ ANGELA GALLOWAY - MISS FSL jf 3 , -«4 > •Si PATTIE HINTON - MISS STUDENT CENTER GAIL THREET - MISS HOMECOMING
