camp in Del Rio, Texas, and
received excellent ratings,
has had public speaking ex
perience before thousands of
people between 1970 - 1975,
aided in various political
campaigns in Fayetteville and
Laurinburg.

Native of Fayetteville but now
resides in Salemburg, N.C.,
member of Elizabeth Baptist
Church, usher and choir
member, Dean’s List and
Honor Roll student, has made
straight “A’s” twice and
received three scholarships
for achievement at FSU, 20
years old and is part-time
employee at Social Security
office in Fayetteville for 2Vz
years. “If elected, I promise
to represent FSU with dignity,
as a scholar and ambassador
of good will to spread the
beauty and personality of the
FSU family to others.”

Fayetteville, likes people and
is a serious student, a native
of Fayetteville and sees very
little difficulty in running wiUi
a male for president of the
SGA.

Bruce D. Emery, a native
of Briston, Conn., has been
appointed Director of
Management and Ac
countability at Fayetteville
State University.
Dr. Charles “A” Lyons,
Jr., Chancellor of the
University, made the an
nouncement recently.
Emery is a recipient of
the A.B. degree from Adelphi
University and the M.S.
degree in higher education
from the University of Ken
tucky at Lexington. He also
attended the Institute for
American Universities, Aix-
en-provence, France and
received a degree in French.
While at the University of
Kentucky, Emery served as a
research fellow and assistant
which involved development
of the various types of ad
ministrative programs,
program planning and
budgeting, and management
by objectives.
In the position at FSU,
Emery will have broad func
tions such as monitoring the
responsibilities of all facets of
the University to determine if
all administrative areas are
maintaining objectives
consonant with the overall
objective of the University.
Emery, 23 years old, is
married and resides in
Fayetteville.
