The announcement was made by Donald LaHuffman, Director of Admissions at Fayetteville State University. The first session of summer school starts May 26. According to LaHuffman, the Early Admission Program is an effort to provide an opportunity for promising high school students to begin work and earn a college degree in a shorter than average period of time. “It is felt”, continued LaHuffman, “that the im plementation of an Early Admissions Program at FSU will enable the university to meet the academic needs of highly motivated students, with abilities, who want to accelerate their academic progress, and work towards a college degree.” To be qualified for the program a student must meet regular requirements of the institution with the exception of completing his senior year units. The student must be eligible to graduate from high school the year following the completion of his junior year of high school.
