Just how does one go about developing this faith? It would seem to me that one has to be in tune with God. What do I mean when I say IN TUNE WITH GOD? It is simply God’s law of harmony and right relationship. This law of harmony and right relationship enables one to realize that he has established a firm devine order in his mner hopes, dreams and expectations-a loving spirit that sees the good in all persons and circumstances-he refuses to waste time or thought worrying about what might happen in the future. This law enables one to know that the power of God is working within and in all that concerns him. One must develop the attitude that no matter what is facing him that day, he will keep uppermost in his mind and heart the truth that God can be trusted to guide and inspire him and to reveal right answers. With ones attention focused on God, all though concerning fear and frustration disappears-one knows that through the power if God in him, one is braver than his fears, stronger than his doubts. One begins to know that the light of (iod shines in him and through him and that the presence and power of God are with him every step of the way. One is now free from worry about the present and the future, for his faith has been firmly established in God. What ■ is God’s link to Faith? When we turn to God, we find that all fearful thoughts concerning us and others will disentegrate. Looking to God for strength, fills us with new energy and direction. All anxiety is thrust aside enabling us to be guided and drawn to new, more rewarding levels of achievement and fulfillment. Faith in the goodness of God keeps one from feeling discouraged. Faith in our God enables one to see good running through all things. Faith in our God makes us know that all things are (Continued on Page 8) BEim WHAT I AM TWIN PROBLEM FOR SANTA-At the annual Fayetteville State University (N.C.) Christmas party recently. Ole Saint Nick had a problem identifying twin boys Harvie Lee Hill (left) and Herbie Carlton Hill. Anyway, Santa got their Christmas toy list from parents Mr. & Mrs. Herby C. Hill Jr., of Fayet teville and promised to deliver them right on time this Christmas Eve. (FSU Photo by John B. Henderson) I am what I am. This raises a question-“What am I?” To begin, I am somebody. I am a creation of God. I can do no more than was intended for me to do. I am Black and do not wish to change my color. I am a woman, sup posedly weaker than the opposite sex. l can not change or rather I have no desire to change what I am. Being what I am does not make me wish to be different. I think each of us should be proud to be what we are. Being what I am I know I can get nowhere unless I am determined. I can not sit back and let the things I want come to me-I must go out and get things I want. To be somebody in this world, I have to reach my goal. By somebody, I do not mean just another human being wasting away my life day by day. I mean a somebody that makes himself important and respectable in the eyes of others. To be important one does not have to be president nor does he have to land on the moon, all he has to do is something he can be proud of. An important person is only as important as he thinks he is. To be somebody one has to have determination and has to be able to fight, without fists or weapons, for his rights. Each of us has to consider ourselves a somebody before we can expect anyone else to respect us in this manner. I, as a creation of God know that I am special, therefore, making me a special somebody. As I stated before I can do no more than was intended for me to do and without God I could do nothing. I believe that for anyone who does not consider himself somebody that there is time-but remember time waits for no man, woman, or child. I am Black and proud, but this does not have anything to do with my being somebody. I feel that with determination, the ability to reason, and the ability to see the viewpoints of others that I, as a Black can succeed. I feel that color should be the least thing in (Continued on Page 7)
