THE I VARSITY OUTLOOK The Fayetteville State Broncos will be fielding another young team for the 1977-78 basketball campaign, consisting of freshmen and sophomores. The prime task will be for the Broncos to find someone to replace all NAIA and All Cl A A guard John Barrows. The Broncos do however, have four of last years’ starters returning in 6’8” CIAA All-Star Reginald McLeod, e’SVa” forward Jeff Ballard, 6’4” forward Dwight Marley and 6’3” ^ard Arnold Chabmers. Battling for the point guard position will be sophomore 5’ 11” James Jackson, 5’11” Charles Ashe, 6’1” Ian Daley and 5’5” Charles Peoples. Coach Robinson states his basketball progf-am is progressing on schedule after two years of recruiting to place the Broncos back on the winning track with the suc cess of the season depending on how quickly the young players mature. The Broncos’ coaching staff will be sear ching for dedicated athletes and leaders out of all in coming players. Coach Robinson feels if these two factors can be found, the team should be strong and could compete with any team in the conference. The Broncos will be stronger with the return of Henry Royal, starter two years ago and transfers Thomas Mann and Jeffrey Johnson from neighboring Lafayette College, should add needed experience and depth to the team. Sophomore, 6’5'/2” forward, Edward Jefferson, along with top recruit, 6’5'/2” freshman, Freddie Bates should greatly contribute to the Broncos’ efforts. Coach Robinson will be looking for assistance from 6’3” guard John Johnson, 6’3” guard Ricardo Bacon and 6’7” forward center Paul Broner. ROSTER Nos.
