Page 6 The Voice June 30, 1983 Variety Page Untitled By J. W. II FACULTY FOCUS Girlish laughter from a woman’s throat. Hot coolness that arouses — yet soothes. The mind that dared to think; to think of things taught, that I had taught. To think and to labor to please ~ to please me. As I had taught her. But in teaching, I learned. I learned that it is not always easy to conquer. I learned that to conquer is to kill love. She does not notice ... for she — teaches me... To give love. By example, she teaches I learn. We love. You By Howard R. Jones To an artist you may be a beautiful work of art Elegantly formed and constructed. Or to a poet like the first rays of an arising sun. Or the last traces of an ever so beautiful sunset. But to the world you are more than just those. Your eyes are as bright as a star-studded canopy above two moonlight lovers, and as soft as pansies in full bloom. Your lips as full as spring’s first rose inviting warmth as does the rose to spring’s first bee. But I think that the nectar drawn from that rose surpasses not, the nectar drawn from your lips in a tender kiss. But I need not trace each step one by one, for you own the world and it is your slave and I ask, “Am I not the most envied man on the face of this earth to possess a love such as YOU?” “On My Way” By Anthony Humphrey Yesterday my hands were shackled behind my back and my feet were too. But the infinity of time has erased that symbol and the physical meaning no longer exists; that is to say that the chains are no longer visible, over the course of times I first saw the chains removed in my dream. Today during the early hours before day break, I began to walk that long road of life of which I could see no end; that was because the sun had not yet rose. Now I know what is ahead because I feel it in the niglit as I walk that long and unforgiving road. I feel those same impugn vibes that I felt when my hands and feet were chained. I know that in time I will prevail. As I went on in time, my journey made me stronger and stronger and the daylight began to shine, so now I really know my source. I also know the source of those other impugn vibes which gave birth to mine. Enjoy Writing?
