January 30,1987 The Broncos’ Voice Vandalism At FSU During the week of January 23, the students, faculty and staff of Fay etteville State University were surprised to discover that two of the fraternity plots located next to the Rudolph Jones Student Center had been vandaliz ed. Dr. Irving Veazie, Direc tor of Student Activities and the Student Center is reported as saying that, dur ing the same week, someone tried to break into the Stu dent Center. Dr. Veazie said that several of the fraternity members who talked to him were very upset. Dr. Veazie told the fraternity members that he understood because he is also a member of a fraternity. Dr. Veazie is a member of Phi Beta Sigma. He told the students that, of course, investigations were being conducted, but now it was time to put this behind them and restore the plots. The two plots that receiv ed the most vandelism were the plots of Kappa Alpha Psi and Cocoa Phi Cocoa. Other plots located in the same area were recipients of minimal damage. One member of the Kappa Fraternity said that he could not understand why some one would want to do this to their plot. The member also expressed a lack of faith in Campus Security’s ability to find the culprits. Most students who ex pressed an opinion on the matter seemed to feel as though it was not really their problem. One said “it has nothing to do with me; I can’t even join a fraternity. And if I could, it would not be either of those two.” “those plots were old and way the student center look- Another student said, were really messing up the ed anyway.” WHA T’S INSIDE KING TRIBUTE STAFF INTRODUCTION RELATIONSHIPS AND MUCH, MUCH MORE
