The Broncos, who were upset last week by Livingstone College, expected to play much better than the final score indicated. Davis scored on runs of three and two yards as the Broncos ran up a 28-6 halftime lead. In the second half it was another ball game. The Vikings defense held the Broncos scoreless while massing 20 points on seven Broncos’ fumbles. A deflected point after attempt pass by Bron cos’ defender Dedrick Davis pre vented the game from being tied in the final seconds. The bright spot for the Viking offense was Aaron Murchison, a Fayetteville native. He carried the ball 21 times for 159 yards and three touchdowns. Robert Harrington demon strated why he is the team leader. Harrington ran for a 28 yard touchdown, threw for one touch down and completed 12 of 26 passes for 142 yards. On the de fensive side of the ball, Daniel Muldrow (8VT; 2AT), Harlan Crenshaw (7VT; 3AT) and Elves Dudley (6VT; 3AT) kept the Vi kings at bay. Klevin Caulter, of fensive guard, was named CIAA offensive Lineman of the week for his efforts in leading Clifton Davis and the Broncos running game. By Marion Crow The bottom line is de fense wins games in football and football is a game played for 60 minutes. Teams who make the best of both win the game. The Broncos have failed in both areas.
