Kappa Men--Setting the Pace
by Vincent Wilson
As the Fall semester has only
just begun, one Greek
organization has stepped up
and is leading the way—Kappa
Alpha Psi. These young men
have an endless devotion to
their fraternity, the
community, and to Fayetteville
State University.
On August 31, the Nupes
held their first community
service project of the semester
as they raised funds for the
Sickle Cell Anemia
Foundation. The brothers set
up in the Rudolph Jones
Student Center from 10 a.m. to
4 p.m. and, looking very
professional, passed out
pamphlets and took donations
for the deadly Sickle Cell
disease.
Later that evening the
Kappas held interviews for Miss
Kappa Alpha Psi in the
Chancellor’s Boardroom in the
"The Essence of Business, Ex
ecution Without Excuses
//
Chesnutt Library. Their
objective was to choose a
suitable young woman to
represent them for the
fraternity as well as the
university’s formal events.
Interviewing lasted from 7 p.m.
to 9 p.m.
Then on September 10 the
Kappas kicked off “Nupe Jam
94” at the Fort Bragg Officers’
Club from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
This function allowed the
student body to party in a nice
facility, a good atmosphere, and
to good music. The affair
brought a mass turnout and
allowed everyone to see the
smoothness a Nupe jam exudes.
Continue to look for good
things from the men of Kappa
Alpha Psi as they are setting the
pace and living up to their
fundamental purpose of
achievement in every field of
human endeavor.

The brothers of the
Epsilon Beta Chapter of
Kappa Alpha Psi at
Fayetteville State Uni
versity are starting
the Fall 1994 semester
off strong. These
young men of achieve
ment are fully dedi
cated to the meaning of
Phi Nu Pi and have
taken the letter of
their chapter (EB) to
initiate their motto--
"The Essence of Busi
ness, Execution With
out Excuses".
While most people were
in their beds, the Kap
pas were up at 7
o'clock A.M. conduct
ing business. On
Wednesday morning, Au
gust 24th, the Kappas
conducted their first
formal breakfast meet
ing of the semester, in
which brothers dis
cussed their outlook
for the Fall semester
and presented indi
vidual proposals for
projects to be executed
this.semester. Epsilon
Beta was proud to have
in attendance Chapter
Advisors Dr. Clarence
White ; Marvin
Pettaway, a'X)^ visiting
brother Ross Snow from
the Germany Alumni
Chapter.
Not only are the Nupes
exemplifying achieve
ment now, but over the
summer months Kappa
Alpha Psi conducted
three workshops con
cerning different as
pects of the
fraternity's business
and three car washes to
generate funds for up
coming fraternity
proj ects.
Kappa Alpha Psi boasts
three new members--
Fall 1993 initiates Ben
Clark, Corey Wagner,
and Waylan Long.
Without a doubt, the
brothers of Kappa Al
pha Psi are exemplify
ing their fundamental
purpose of achievement
and challenges all
other Greeks to follow
suit. Look forward to
several good things to
be generated from the
brothers this semester.
