0 8 Broncos'Voice October 1994 MUSIC NEWS from Uzi-D By Uzi-D Wazup, Broncos! This is Uzi-D coming at you once again with some info on entertainment. On September 16, I got a chance to witness the Budweiser Superfest ’94. Performing artists included Warren G, Coolio,. Aliyah, Heavy D, and R. Kelly. Let me tell ya, this concert was all that and then some. The only disappoint ment was the fact that Aliyah could not perform because minors can’t pro mote alcoholic beverages. Regard less of this fact, it was worth the $27.00. The concert opened with Warren G “regulating” and Coolio taking that “fantastic voyage.” Their perfor mances were short to make way for Heavy D. The real action started when the Heavster performed songs from his hit albums “Mr. Big Stuff’ and “Nuttin’ But Love.” 1 was impressed when he took time to talk to his audi ence to thank them for his success. While Heavy was thanking us and giving his respects to dancer. Trouble T Roy, who passed some years ago, the song “Don’t You Know” was bumpin’ in the background. The dancers had skills. Of course Heavy had skills. And there was intense en ergy throughout the entire Dean Dome in Chapel hiU. After Heavy told us that he had “nuttin’ but love,” R. Kelly demon strated in twelve ways of “12 play.” I was screaming like little girl, myself, when he opened his performance with a mini-film of a “12 Play” action ad venture. When the screen rose up, so did Mr. Bump and Grind. The ladies were going crazy and you could hardly hear over their screaming voices. The police were on stand by just in case R. tried to demonstrate number seven (if you know what I mean). He also performed “Honey Love,” “Seems Like You’re Ready,” and “Bump and Grind.” R. Kelly’s was the ultimate performance from the dancers, to the vocals, to the stage show. I was more than satisfied with the whole thing. Before I go, let me give you the 411 on what’s not in your record stores and what to look for in the fu ture. Keep an eye out for Method Man and Redman coming in October. CDs to check out include the latest by Boyz II Men, Changing Faces, Anita Baker, Craig Mack, and Bebe and Cece Winans. As usual, I can’t get all the news, but I what I can. Be on the lookout for what’s going on right here on your very own campus. In the meanwhile. I’ll catch next time on the flip side. God Bless and Peace.
