3-on-3 Tournament

The regional Super Hoops Atlantic
Regional 3-on-3 Basketball Tourna
ment was held on Saturday, February
11,1995 on the campus of East Caro
lina University. Five(5) students from
the Fayetteville State University I-RS
program and a staff member made the
journey to Greenville, NC to partici
pate in the tournament. The
Fayetteville State University Repre
sentatives included: Jarmaine Bryant,
Terrance Bryant, David Hill, Micah
Johnson, Vincent McCluney, and Jerry
Williams.
Throughout the tournament, the
Broncos defeated teams such as North
Carolina State University and the Uni
versity of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill. University of South Carolina at
Sumpter delievered the first of only
two defeats endured duming the en
tire tournament. The team also de
feated teams by point margins as high
as 32 points. The Broncos lost in the
championship game against The Uni
versity of South Carolina at Sumpter
by a heart-crushing two points.
The students are to be commended
for the competitive spirit displayed
during the very demanding contests at
East Carolina University, and the ad
mirable manner in which they con
ducted themselves while away from
the University.
FSU Broncos Receive CIAA
Award
for Highest Team Average
G.P.A.
Fayetteville, NC, February 28, 1995 At last week’s
CIAA Basketball Tournament in Winston-Salem, the
FSU Broncos brought home the most important award
given out by the CIAA for the highest team average
G.P.A. in the 14-school athletic conference. This is
the second time the Broncos have earned the award,
which came with a $1,000 check for scholarships at
FSU. The highest average G.P.A. for an FSU player
is 3.8. Members of the FSU 1994-95 men’s basket
ball team are: David Brown, Hampton, VA; Ivan
Cameron, Fayetteville, NC; Reggie Gilliam,
Spartanburg, SC; Joseph Herring, Baltimore, MD;
Aaron James, Winston-Salem, NC; Ahmed Jenkins,
Seattle, WA; Darrin Johnson, Odrenton, MD; David
Martin, Lxjuisville, KY; Alonzo Moore, Atlanta, GA;
Wayne Morris, Jr., Fayetteville, NC; Jerome Oliver,
Mount Olive, NC; Donald Petree, Winston-Salem,

March 10-11, 1995.
