What are some of your long-term goals? I eventually plan to return home to Trinidad and teach Computer Science at the local college. I also want to settle down, get married and have two kids. Who, at FSU, would you leave your legacy to? .Natasha Williams. She is a freshman from Trinidad. I hope she will continue to represent for the international students. Do you think you have helped make FSU better? Yes I do. My campus involvement and the high standards I have set in my department have made my school better now than when I first arrived. Who or what has been your biggest influence in life? The fact that my education and opportunity is all I have going for me and my commitment to making the best of it is what has been my greatest motivation. What are your affiliations? Currently I am Vice President of Information System Society. I am also Vice-President and Web Master of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I am an active member of both The International Students Association and The Association for Computer Machinery. I am also a Resident Assistant in Honors Hall. What qualities do you think the next Chancellor should possess? 1 want FSU to have a Chancellor that is deeply interested and committed to raising the academic standards of the University. I believe we have great professors but there is an overall standard for students that is lower than it should be, and although the instructors support us and teach us what we will need to excel in our perspective majors, sometimes I have observed students falling to the lower standard rather than walking in excellence. Obstacles you have had to overcome: 2 months after I arrived at FSU my older sister passed away at age 23. It was difficult but I pressed my way. Special thanks: My sorors of Delta Sigma Theta and the Brothers of Omega Psi Phi-1 love you all! Deon Winchester- my fellow Trinidadian, thank you for being a student leader and thanks to all the international students.
