"I think we'll have a good season," Hangar states. "They're working hard and are new to each other, but they're learning the game together. They're coachable and they are teachable, so they're getting better together; I'm excited about that." The team also boasts many promising new recruits and transfer players. Coach Hanger expressed his enthusiasm at this year's roster: "Most of the team is new, and I'm excited about all of them." Two of the transfer players he mentions are Billy McDade, a 6-10 junior from Largo, Florida, and Jamel Austin, a 6- 3 junior from Brooklyn, New York. Zalinor Banks, Larry Ross, and Gideon Brown are all freshmen who are also expected to make a positive contribution to the team in the future. "They're freshmen that will become good ball players," says Hanger. Who does Coach Hanger consider the team's biggest opponents? "Both Smith and North Carolina Central are rivals, but Virginia Union is a big game because they are the best and you want to beat the best," he states. "Both Virginia Union and Bowie are important games because they're always at the top and there the one's you're always chasing." The Broncos record so for is 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the CIAA. The Broncos will play Bluefield State College tomorrow at 7:30 at the Capel Arena. Also, the highly anticipated game against reigning CIAA champion, Virginia Union, will take place on next Tuesday, December 5th, at 7:30 in the Capel Arena.
