The Voice: Hello Mr. Ferguson! Great speech.
Ferguson: Thank you, I'm glad you could attend.
The Voice: What is the most important political issue
that you are concerned with, that the African-American
community can also relate to?
Ferguson: First off, let's begin to stop separating issues
into race. An important issue should be everyone's
issue, regardless of skin color. If it is a problem, we as
American citizens need to address it rather it's rooted
within the Caucasian community or African-American
community. We should try to face the challenge of get
ting over our race issues, and began to focus on people
issues. Then and only then can we begin to merge and
tackle our political, social, and economic burdens as
one strong, unified force.
The Voice: As a conservative, what do you think we can
do to merge this ethnicity gap that exists in American
politics?
Ferguson: I think we should all immediately begin to fo
cus on and address our political issues as Americans, in
stead of separating our views into particular views of a
certain race, color, religion, or nationality. If one takes
a deep look at the types of political issues that affect us
today, the majority aren't racially or demographically
placed at all. The important issues affect all citizens of
the United States.
The Voice: So many people have a strong desire to fol
low the same career path you have chosen. You didn't
grow up rich or advantaged. You had to work hard
and persevere just as everybody else. What tips of ad
vice would you offer?
Ferguson: 1 read a book by the founder of Chik-Fil-A,
Truett Cathy. The book inspired me tremendously to
pursue my dream with the utmost passion, hard work,
and dedication. 1 played tennis in college. 1 had a pas
sion for the sport and eventually was able to compete
for national championships. I ensured that whatever
endeavor I proposed upon myself was dealt with, with
perseverance and seriousness. Having passion allows
you to put your heart into it. You must love what you
want to do.
THANKS FOR
YOUR SUPPORT!
