Be cause we need writers. Every semester, as finals week begins, it seems like our entire staff disappears. We need to find higher-quality people. If you think that you might be able to help us out with any aspect of the paper, please send an email to VoiceCopyEditor® yahoo.com. Hope to hear from you. -Ash “Silly George” No George! Don’t eat that kitten! As you’ve probably guessed, this ihoto isn’t real. But whoever edited it with photoshop did a dam good job. The Voice needs, people with this kind of photoshop talent. If it’s you, stop by the office. RISC Rm. 241 Future Editor: Join Us Salutations Bronco, Starting v/ith the Fall 2008 semester I v/ill be the Editor-in-Chief of The Voice. I have been v/ith The Voice since the Spring of 2006, and have worked over the past couple of years to make our student newspaper into something respectable. I think that we have met that goal in many ways. V/e still have a long way to go. The Voice is much more than a student or ganization or club. The Voice is a business. In order to function, we need students to fill the many positions that we have available. Posi tions like staff writers, editors, paginators (de sign), photographers, distribution aids, adver tising sales executives, and many more. We need students that are willing to do nate their time to making our paper the pri mary source of news for our campus, instead of students having to rely on Treva Mail. Start ing in the Fall there will be a limited number of paid positions available on the staff, and those will be filled based upon an application and interview with myself. We encourage all to apply regardless of experience, but we are specifically looking for individuals that already have something to contribute. Do you have extensive experience with Photoshop or Indesign? Did you write for your high school newspaper? Are you majoring in Communications, Business, or English? Working on our staff could be the equivalent of an internship. Work with us and build your work portfo lio. Business Majors, The Voice needs people that can develop systems to track purchase orders, advertising sales, and budget chang es. Many jobs on our staff are management positions that don't require a background in journalism. Our paper exists to serve the student body. Let us serve you by making you part of our team. We look forward to serving you during the upcoming year. Sincerely, Ashley C. Smith Advertising Manager You should check out our website.
