[J.C.] Alpha Kappa Alpha will always be the first Greek lettered organization for women of color. With changing times, more non-black women are choosing to
find interest and membership in our organization. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is open to women of all races and creeds. Therefore, anyone with an interest
of joining our illustrious organization comprised of hard working women should continue to do so regardless of race.
[Voice] What type of programs will the Delta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc implement for the Spring 2010 semester? What goals does your
organization wish to accomplish by implementing these programs?
[J.C.] Delta Alpha will be hosting several programs during the Spring 2010 semester beginning with Delta Alpha Week which is January 24th-January 30th 2010.
All of our programs will be under our national platforms. We hope to inspire, teach, and also learn while implementing these programs.
[Voice] How does the Delta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc maintain their status as the premier Greek organization for African-American college
educated women?
[J.C] Very simple, we follow the path that was set out by our founders in 1908 to be and remain the premier Greek lettered organization for African-American
collegiate women.

Ever wonder what occurred at Fayetteville State
University about this time of year? Wonder no
more. Here are some interesting facts about FSU
in history!
January
-8,1973: Eight inches of snow covered the campus
of FSU; first snow-fall in over 13 years.
-8,1973: FSU’s own Dr. William M. Bell named
Chairman of the NCAA.
-8,1973: FSU gets approved by the University of
North Carolina General Administration to resume
the associate of arts degree for students at Ft.
Bragg/Pope Air Force Base.
-11,1982: Severe cold, ice, and snow brought
much of FSU to a standstill for a week.
-23,1987: FSU was surprised to discover the plots
of two fraternities. Kappa Alpha Psi and Cocoa
Phi Cocoa, vandalized next to the Rudolph Jones
Student Center.
-28,1982: President Regan proposes financial aid
cuts nationally, affecting FSU students.
-30,1970: A million dollar student center is in the
final drafting stages; university officials expect to
get a construction contract.
-30,1970: President Charles “A” Lyons arranged a
three year enrichment campaign to raise $1 million
dollars.
-30,1970: New degree programs were developed.
^30,1976: FSU launches a $65,000 effort to
develop a curriculum in criminal justice specialties.
-1974: The Business Administration department of
FSU received $1,000 from the Gulf Oil Foundation
-1975: Book rental system is implemented at FSU;
price held at $2.00 per semester hour.
-1977: FSU foundation launched its 1976-1977
fund drive; development plan calling for a total of
$10.3 million.
-2006: A Mass Communications program is added
to the University.
