Dr. Akinson has been a Criminal Justice professor for eight years and out [of those eight, six of them have been spent at Fayetteville State University When asked about how he became interested in the criminal justice pro gram, he explained that his passion for the subject started when he saw the 1980’s film “Silence of the Lamb”. Dr. Adkinson is a huge Marvel Comics fan with his favorite being Spider- man of course. He Is so hooked on comics that he in fact wrote his disser- jtation on the topic of “The link between superheroes and criminal justice”. •■y -r.>t 'Like his hero, Dr. Adkinson . believes that “with great power comes great responsibility.” Not abusing your power Is one of the main ways to be successful not just in criminal justice but life in general. “Here at Fayetteville State our CJ professionals are 100 percent dedicated to our students, we try and help them to succeed by providing internships at the state and federal level. We have one of if not the best criminal justice programs in the state of North Carolina,” said Dr. Adkinson. “Even if you think no one is paying attention, you should always care for oth ers. It takes a lot of courage to lend your heart,” he added.
