16 WCC CAMPUS VOICE - FEBRUARY 24,1993 Smoking policy awaits Board action By DENISE DEISLER A campus smoking policy is approaching final stages for approval, according to Dr. Ed Wilson, WCC President, who is still gathering input from sources on and off campus, including members of the Board of Trustees. Wilson requested a committee to study the issue and make recommendations. Dr. Ned Sauls, Human Services instructor and College Council k President, chaired the committee comprised of both smoking and nonsmoking members of faculty, staff, and students, Sauls said. The committee also considered a petition with 622 signatures calling for a smoke free campus that Glenn Smith, Accounting Instructor, presented. Smoking areas provided should be enclosed and equipped with air filtering systems where possible. All common areas, such as the Atrium and Dining Hall, should remain smoke free.
