12 WCC CAMPUS VOICE - MAY 18, 1994 AF Base program grows By NATALIE GONZALES In the past 2 years, wee's program at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base has grown from a low 1991 enrollment to 17 classes and 243 students this spring, according to Coordinator Phyllis Radford. Ninety-six of this number are active military, 43 are dependents of active military, 101 are civilian, and 3 are civilian personnel, Radford said. Students take base classes to complete courses in a shorter time than the 11-week quarter on the main campus. Students also choose base classes because times coincide better with their schedules. Some classes offered on base may not be offered at the main campus. Base requirements and credits are the same as the ones required at WCC. Base classes allow more choices for the students and enable them to further their education with more convenience, Radford said. Students wishing more information about classes at the base may call Radford or Cindy Melick at 735-5151, Ext. 722 or 721. BRIDESHEAD INTERIORS & ANTIQUES JAMES BRITT 517 WEST JONES STREET RALEIGH. PHOTO: ROBII STILIELL CT blues from page 5 I have asked the college I plan to attend (NCSU) why it can not go ahead and accept me, since I am taking the last class needed to meet MAR. The response was that they have to see my final transcript before a decision can be made. What this also means is that I cannot sign up for housing or classes until I get accepted, which won't happen until late May or early June. This causes another big headache because everyone who has already been accepted and those who are presently attending the school can go ahead and sign up for housing and classes. By the time those of us in the final transcript dilemma get a chance to sign up, the only housing left will probably be 2 miles from central campus (where most of the classes are held) and the only classes left will be late in the evening. Well, now that I have a terrible migraine. I'll take some aspirin and go to bed. Transfer Tips from Teasley 1. Limit your choices of schools to 2. 2. Get course transfer equivalency Crom each school. 3. Avoid non-transferable courses I 4. Take courses necessary to meet MRA first. 5. Plan your schedule from start to finish. 6.
