PIOTO: IlLCOU SlUIII Golf Team has successful season By KAREN LOTT The Wayne Community College Golf Team has had a successful 1995 spring season, according to David Deakle, team coach and instructor in the Business Department. He said, "The team has represented the college well in competition." This year’s team had limited experience, returning only 2 players from last year; however, Deakle said they "pulled together." Golf Team members include: Allen Smith, Kevin Walling, Sam Jones, Brian Mayes, Randy Sutton, Tony Harris, Jonathan Bryan, Butch Cassidy, Kris Pate, and Tony Brown. The Bisons practiced and played their home matches at Lane Tree Golf Course. In the Palmer Division of the Eastern Carolina Community College Athletic Conference, the Bisons have played matches in Wilmington, Pinehurst, Myrtle Beach, and White Lake. Deakle said Allen Smith has been a leading scorer this season and he has contended all season for the A11-Conference Team. Randy Sutton has proven himself as a team leader and has been a steady contributor. Kevin Walling, in his third and final season, has proven dependable. Tony Brown has improved considerably because of his hard work and has been a solid scorer. Coach Deakle has been very pleased with this year’s team in that they have placed their academics as a priority and made excellent academic progress. Any male or female students interested in playing on next year’s team should contact Beth Jones or David Deakle. ^ - -**® 1 stodest looks o?er the selection of Phi leta Laibda Baster baskets.
