New employees join the ranks Sue Woodard, the new bookkeeper in the Business Office, goes over records. Ron Lane monitlors the new copie; in the Print Shop. PHOTO: VOICE STAFF By CHRISTI DAWSON Since the fall issue WCC has employed several new people. Sue Woodard is the new bookkeeper in the Business Office. Woodard is a native of Wake County and a graduate of King's Business College. She has worked in the community college system since 1963. In her spare time Woodard enjoys golf, fishing, crafts, and spending time with her family. Ron Lane was hired in January as a technician in the Print Shop located on the third floor, LC building, to replace Marjorie Murphy, who moved to Florida. Lane said that Murphy encouraged him to apply for the position because of his previous experience in the Print Shop as a work study student. Lane's job includes running copies that the college needs for flyers and brochures. Lane, a native of Seven Springs, NC, graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1989 and from WCC in 1992 and 1994. . He holds associate degrees in business, arts, and science. While a student at WCC, Lane was involved in the SGA, PEL, and the "Campus Voice." In Lane's spare time he works at the Waffle House and enjoys reading Stephen King. Dr. Ralph Soney, new Division Head, Human Services/ Social Sciences, will begin on March 1,1997. Richard Darden peruses records as part of his daily acrivities. Richard Darden was hired in' the spring of 1996 in the BaSic Skills department as the counselor and recruiter for the JTPA (Job Training Partnership Act). Darden is a 1987 graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor's degree in fine arts. Darden said,"I work directly with the participants in helping them reach their training and career goals." Darden spends his leisure time being an artist, hiking, camping, being involved in church activities and spending time with family. Darden previously taught art in grades at Aurora High and Bath Middle School in Beaufort, NC. Welcome Mat!
