More about new employees December 14, 1998 - WCC CAMPUS VOICE 7 By SCOTT HERRING Linda Sutton, secretary for JTPA, was born in LaGrange, NC. She received her associate degree in office systems technology from WCC and graduated Phi Theta Kappa. She was enlisted in the Air Force for 15 years before starting full-time at WCC in February 1998. She has 2 children, Brandi, 11, and Calum, 4. Brian Mitchell, livestock and poultry instructor, was born in Goldsboro, NC. He received his Bachelor's degree in agricultural education and poultry science from NC State. Mitchell enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. Mitchell and his wife Suzanne of 10 years have 3 boys, Ben, 6, and Phillip and Luke, 7-year-old twins. Dwanda Scott, sex equity coordinator/ recruiter, was born in Oak Hill, WV, but lived there only briefly. She lived in New York City until she was 10 and in Boston, MA, until the age of 17. Scott received her associate's degree from WCC in human services, her B.S. degree in child development and family relations at ECU and her master's degree in vocational evaluation and rehab counseling. William Radford, head of dental occupations, was born in Smithfield, NC, in 1955. He received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Campbell University in 1976. Later in 1982 he earned his DDS from UNC-Chapel Hill. From 1982 to 1998 he had a private practice in Smithfield. Radford and his wife Alice of 21 years have a 17-year-old son Bill, a senior at North Johnston High School who plans to enroll at UNC-CH next fall. Radford enjoys many outdoor activities. Under Coppola's supervision Clark went to New York to promote the filming industry in North Carolina. Clark also worked as an extra on the hit t.v. show "Dawson's Creek." His first production assistant job came on the movie "Payback." Clark also had parts in films such as Shirley McClaine's "Bruno" as well as a part as a law enforcement officer in "Takedown," a police drama staring Tom Berenger and Skeet Ulrich. Clark made a trip to California this summer and visited Steven Speilburg's studio Dreamworks. Clark plans to return to California to pursue a career in the entertainment field as a producer in the near future. Conference from p. 3 Representing WCC were Wayne Parson, SGA Adviser; Michaelene Horton, SGA President; Tammy Evans, SGA Secretary; and Rianne Disch, Special Populations Chair. The conference was held Thursday, Oct. 22 to Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Sheraton Inn. In addition to the "Role of Officer" training seminars, those present chose several workshops to attend.
