On Tuesday, April 18, the
Wayne Community College
(WCC) Spring Fling took place in
the atrium of the LC building.
In the past faculty and staff
cooked turkeys and planned skits,
but this year they joined students
in festivities only slightly
curtailed because of the threat of
rain.
Starting at 12:00 noon, staff
from Alton’s Barbeque served
a traditional lunch to over 600
faculty, staff and students, after
which SGA candidates delivered
their final campaign speeches.
Ginger Devore, running for
SGA president for 2000-2001,
emphasized the importance of
students in making SGA viable.
Tiwana Mosley, prospective
vice president, recounted some of
her experiences at the State
Conference that inspired her to
run for office, and Wanda
Thomas, running for secretary,
praised the teamwork she has seen
among SGA officers and
delegates.
