APRIL 26. 2000 - WCC CAMPUS VOICE 3 New employees ft Tim Hudgins By JASON ROWE BRIAN WEEKS Tim Hudgins, a native of Albany, GA, is the Head Groundskeeper at WCC. He attended NCSU, where he double majored in Turfgrass Management and Nursery Crop Production. Hudgins’ past work experiences include running numerous golf courses for 15 years then doing irrigation work before finding WCC. He also worked from 1980-1988 as an EMT for a volunteer rescue squad, before moving from a job in Whiteville, NC, to Raleigh. He describes himself as easy going and dependable. Before coming to WCC, Brettmann taught learning disabilitiy classes in elementary and high school. She also served as the learning disability coordinator at NCSU. Brettmann arid her husband William are the parents of 2 daughters. Keith, the older daughter, lives in NY and works for Nickelodeon TV, Beverly is a high school English teacher in Durham. In her spare time, Brettmann enjoys gardening, reading, and relaxing at the beach. Lee Brettman Lee Brettmann, originally from Mobile, AL, is a counselor for disability services and special need students at WCC. Brettmann received a BA degree from Vanderbilt University, as well as a MEd degree in special education and learning disabilities from the University of North Florida. Angela C. Jackson Angela C. Jackson, bom and raised in Goldsboro, is the division secretary for the engineering program at WCC. Jackson graduated from WCC in 1990 with an A.A.S. degree in Business Administration. After graduation, Jackson worked at Wayne Memorial Hospital and with Mega Force as a secretary. Jackson is married with 2 children, ages 14 and 6. She enjoys reading and cooking. Mike Muncy Mike Muncy, a native of Louisville, KY, is a groundskeeper at WCC. After graduating from high school in 1989, Muncy joined the Army for 4 years as a helicopter crew chief He is presently working towards a degree at WCC in Turfgrass Management. Muncy has been married 10 years and has three children; 2 girls, Corimne, 9, and Chloe, 8, and a boy RC, 2. His wife just won airman of the year at SJAFB for her logistics group. In his time off he enjoys golf, family outings, and anything challenging. Ralph Benedetto Ralph Benedetto, a native of San Diego, CA, is a full-time biology instructor at WCC. Benedetto obtained a B.S. degree in biological science from NCSU. He later received his MS degree in molecular biology^io- technology from ECU. Before attending NCSU, Benedetto was a student at WCC. Benedetto held many different jobs before becoming a teacher. He was a kennel assistant in an animal hospital and a tutor for WCC. He taught GED prep classes at Wayne Correctional Center and English as a Second Language (ESL) for Continuing Education. In his spare time, Benedetto enjoys playing the guitar and the Renaissance lute, composing music, writing, chess, and reading. David Chambley David Chambley, originally from Opelika, AL, is the maintenance supervisor at WCC. Chambley received a high school diploma from WCC as well as a heating and air-conditioning degree. Chambley served in the Air Force. Before coming to WCC, Chambley worked for 22 years at NC Natural Gas Company. Chambley and his wife Lydia are the parents of two children; Amber, a student at UNC-CH and Jeremy, a student at Eastern Wayne. In his spare time, Chambley enjoys fishing, golfing, camping, and being a church youth and lay leader. Chambley is also an enthusiastic Alabama football fan. continued page 22
