4 WCC CAMPUS VOICE - DECEMBRR R 9.000 Fall semester brings abundance of new employees By CHRISTA M. FRYAR and JENNIFER BENFIELD Michael Dubrowsky, a new math instructor, graduated from Barton College with a BA degree and from East Carolina University with a MA. Dubrowsky serves on the Distance Learning Committee, advises students, instructs math classes, and helps with appropriate study guides for developmental math. He says that WCC is a great college to work for, a very friendly and personal place. He was previously employed at Lenoir Community College. His family includes his wife, Christine Dubrowsky, and a toy poodle named Belle. He enjoys golf, running, and snow skiing, and he has a special talent for tennis. Katina M. Phillips Katina Phillips, math instructor at WCC, graduated from East Carolina University in 1995 with a BS in math education. In 1998 she received an MAEd in math education. She taught at West Craven High School in Vanceboro 1995-99 and at Eastern Wayne High School 1999- 2000. Phillips says she is single “but looking.” Her hobbies include going to church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, and teaching part-time at SJAFB X for Mount Olive College She also has a talent for clogging. She clogged for 13 years with The Buck Swamp Kicking Cloggefs, receiving Clogger of the Year several years in a row from her peers. Barbara Markow Barbara Markow, psychology instructor at WCC, graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, N. J., with an MA in clinical psychology. She went from there to work at Cherry Hospital in Wayne County as a staff psychologist. % : -y’ Michael Dubrowsky ' Iff; Katina Phillips Barbara Markow She also worked as a licensed psychological associate in N.C. and a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania prior to teaching. She enjoys physical fitness training, nature, outdoors, music, and writing. Duane Everhart Duane Everhart is the new Program Coordinator in Criminal Justice. His duties include developing the curriculum program. Duane Everhart Everhart has a BS in Criminal Justice and Secondary Education from The Defiance College, Ohio. He has a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina. He has taught at Barton College, the University of South Carolina, and Spartanburg Methodist College. He also worked with the Sheriffs Department in Bryan, Ohio. Everhart and his wife Margarita have three daughters and one grandson.
