APRIL 25. 2001 - WCC CAMPUS VOICE 11 SGA has active semester with volunteer work By MICHAEL WALTERS For 2000-2001, SGA leaderships resides in the hands of these officers and advisers: Tammi Allen, president; Carleta Williams, secretary; MaryLou Barber, local interaction; Charles Taylor, Special population; and these 3 SGA adviser, Jim Sly, Margaret Baudor, and Wayne Parson. The Student Government Association serves Wayne Community College, especially the students in various ways. First of all, SGA is in charge of student LD cards and parking stickers. Accident insurance and Dr. Sanford’s medical services are also covered by SGA when students pay their $16 activity fee. The fee also pays for tuition paid scholarships for SGA officers, start up money for 14 clubs, and banquets. SGA is also in charge of the Student Lounge where students can relax, and play Ping-Pong, cards, chess or billiards. SGA supports tournaments in these sports and awards trophies to winners. At N4CSGA 48 colleges of 59 in the system were represented. The colleges are divided into geographic regions- Westem, Central, and Eastern divisions. Each division talked about problems and issues on its campus during the several workshops. One issue was whether SGA officers should receive standard college credit for their leadership roles.
