Spring semester intramurals called 'successful'

During spring semester 2001
the Student Government
Association sponsored several
tournaments; pool in January,
Ping-Pong in February, bowling
in March, and basketball and golf
in April.
According to Wayne Parson,
Director of Student Activities,
Sergio Sanchez, a college transfer
student in the Associate of Arts
program, won the pool table
tournament.
Second place was awarded to
John McLawhom, a business
major in his second semester.
The ping pong tournament was
held the following week, starting
with 14 students and ending up
with 2 winners.
First place was awarded to
Daniel Davis, in the Cisco
Certification program, with only
two semesters to finish.
Second place was awarded to
Marc Langston, majoring in
physical education, in his second
semester at WCC.
The Golf Tournament was held
April 9, 2001 at 1:00 pm held at
Walnut Creek Country Club.
First flight, first place was Nick
Bellemy, turf grass management
major. Jeremy Williams,
agriculture business major, was
first flight, second place while
second flight winners in first and
second place were Daniel Davis,
Cisco Program major and Donald

Wayne Parson said that 17
players participated in the
tournament. He said, “I am really
pleased with the response to
intramurals this semester, and I
thank all those who participated.”
