Chorus performs, prepares for Spring Concert
Rachel Hunt and Cullen
Jarman will be the soloists for
“Within These Walls.”
Earl Blair and Lani Moore
will sing the solo parts for
“Soli Deo Gloria (Praise the
Lord for Evermore).”
About 63 students, staff,
and a few community
musicians comprise the 3
groups. Tom Casey serves as
accompanist.
Lewis said, “It will be a fiin
and an exciting concert. I
hope everyone will coine.”

The Liberal Arts/Math
Division will present its
annual Spring Music Concert
on Thursday, April 26, 2001,
in the Richard B. Moffatt
Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.,
according to Marshalle Lewis,
music instructor and
coordinator for the Associate
of Fine Arts degree in music
at WCC.
The concert has 3
components—the Band,
Recorder Ensemble, and
Chorus.
The Band, under the
direction of Cindy Grant, will
perform “I Love My Love”;
“Concert Rondo,” with
Donald Benton as tuba
soloist; “I’ve Made My Plans
for the Summer,” with Scott
Sturtz soloing on the trumpet;
“It Don’t Mean a Thing”; and
“Someone to Watch Over
Me,” with Jennifer Bames as
saxophone soloist.
The Recorder Ensemble,
under Beverly Sager’s
direction, will perform
“Anglaise”; “Edi beo thu
Hevene Quene” a 14^^ century
piece with a duet by James
Bynum and Terry Toner;
“Pastime in Good Company,”
written by Henry VIII, which
will feature a trio with Tim
Heath, Shannon Howell, and
Kathy Swanzey.
Brad Collier, Tim Heath,
Kathy Swanzey, and Josh
Zabawski will be the featured
quartet for “Prins Robbert
Masco.”
In “M. George Witehead,
His Alemande,” a consort
composed of Brad Collier,
Beverly Sager, Chester Davis,
Alan Malpass, and Tim Heath
will play the soprano I and II
alto, tenor, and bass parts.
The Chorus will begin with
“ Awaketh the T rumpet’ s
Lofty Sound.”
T. J. Kriston and Jannel Orr
will perform the solo parts for
Paul Simon’s “Bridge Over
Troubled Water,” and Carolyn
Cissel will have the solo for
“Graduation Song (Song of
Joy).”
The Chorus will sing 2
traditional spirituals, “Hold
On” and “Twelve Gates into
the City.”
