Lofton has an associate
degree in Early Childhood
Education from Lenoir
Community College. She
graduated with honors.
Lofton was previously
employed at Greene Lamp
Headstart.
Her family includes two
daughters Andrea Jarman'and
LaTosha Jarman, a junior at
St. Augustine College in
Raleigh. She has a
granddaughter Maiya Jarman,
a kindergartner.
Lofton’s hobbies and
interests include reading,
doing crossword puzzles, and
going to church. A unique
quality about Lofton is she
tries to do what is right and
get along with everyone.
“Everyone at WCC is
fnendly and helpful,” said
Lofton.
Kimberly Loftin
Kimberly Loftin is lead
preschool teacher at the WCC
Day Care. Her duties include
planning and implementing
the daily program of
developmentally appropriate
practices and activities for a
group of children.
She identifies each child’s
capabilities and needs,
assuring the welfare, health,
and safety of the children.
Loftin has an associate
degree in Early Childhood
Education. She was
previously employed at
Greene Lamp Headstart.
Loftin has a 5 year-old son
named Damion. Her hobbies
and interests include reading,
walking, basketball, softball,
shopping, and watching her
son play teeball.
A unique fact about Loftin
is that she has a caring heart
and she does her best with her
child, as well as the kids at
school.

Dr. Kay Albertson
The new Division Head of
Natural Resources and Human
and Social Services at Wayne
Community College, Dr. Kay
Albertson, has worked with
our “family” before.
She started the early
childhood curriculum and had
been employed in the early
childhood development
program from 1980 to 1983.
On August 1, 2000, she
began her new duties which
include supervision of all the
faculty in her division,
planning curriculum,
overseeing the division
budget, teaching, advising,
leading faculty with their own
planning objectives, and
evaluating programs for
quality.
