MAY 1. 2002 - WCC CAMPUS VOICE 3 New employees spring into action Gerald Price Gerald Price was bom in Wayne County. He is the Director of the Business and Industry Center. Married to Carol Price, he has-a son Josh who is a sophomore at UNC- Wilmington. Price received his BS at Atlantic Christian College, (Barton College). His most recent jobs were Director of Human Resources at Acme United Corp., Safety Director at O’Berry Center and Assistant Personnel Director/Safety Director at Borden Manufacturing Company. “I am a ‘people person.’” My life is built around my family,. my God, and building and maintaining relationships. A1 Spraker Network instructor A1 Spraker was bom in Kentucky. He has a bachelor’s degree in business, a master’s degree in health services and two associate degrees. His most recent job experience was a part-time • instmctor at Sampson Community College. Spraker has a farm in Duplin County where he raises poultry and cattle. He is also a private pilot. He is married to Carol who is an RN at Wayne Memorial and has two sons, Peter and Stephen. Lea Thornton Lea Thomton, the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Case Manager, was bom in Madrid, Spain. She has been married for 23 years, has 2 children ages 22 and 17, and 2 grandchildren, one 3 years old and the other 5 months old. Thomton was a 2001 honors graduate of WCC with an AAS Human Services Technology/Substance Abuse concentration. “My most recent job experience was working as Americorp/VISTA at the Eastem Regional Vocational Rehabilitation while obtaining my college degree from WCC. My position at WCC involves working with 16-21 year-old youths who have retumed to get their GED or high school diploma.” Thomton adds, “I like working with young adults. Ramey Recmiting Specialist Shelboni L. Ramey was bom in Durham, NC. She was raised in Spain, Califomia, Texas and South Carolina. Ramey graduated from Cooper High School, Abilene Texas. She is a graduate of WCC with an associate degree in Human Services/Mental Health. She is married to Darrell Ramey and has a son named Stacey and a pet parakeet named Angel.
