CAMPUS VOICE Page 5 Friday, April 7,2006 WCC presents play as part of Wayne County Reads WCC was a participant in this year’s Wayne County Reads. Among its contributions was production of the play, “I Never Saw Another Butterfly,” based on a true story by Celeste Raspanti that takes place in the Terezin Prison Camp, where thousands of children were kept en route to Auschwitz. The play was performed in Moffatt Auditorium on March 30 and 31 and April 1 and 2. Directing was Margaret Boothe Baddour. Veteran actress Rosalyn Lomax, as teacher Irena Synkova, led the cast of faculty, staff and community actors. Hallie Hulse, a tenth grader at Eastern Wayne High School played Raja, the teen-age girl who survives Terezin to remember it all. Michael Atkins, a student at Charles B. Ay cock High School, played Raja’s love interest. Local lawyer Geoff Hulse played Raja’s father Another real-life father- daughter team in the play were WCC graduate Tessa Brannon as Raja’s mother and her father, WCC sociology instructor Ray Brannon, as the Rabbi. Paul Cunningham played piano; his son, Alex, played the saxophone. Danny Rollins, chairman of the WCC English Department, served as technical director. Included in the cast were: Will Bartlett, Hailey Best, Beaux Brogden, Quincy Cunningham, Alexis Davila, Mikayla Huf, Abigail Johnston, Riley Miller, Jeremy Sanders, Laura Shivar and Jonathan Williams.
