PAGE 4, THE COUGAR CRY, MARCH 2, 1970
Wilkes Falls To Isothermal
A bad second half dropped
the Cougars behind Isothermal
62-46 in a conference game pla
yed at the WUkes YMCA,
In playing good team ball and
sporting a good shooting per
centage, the Cougars went to
the dressing room at the half
with the game tied at 27 all.
The second half left the Cou
gars holding an empty bag.
Isothermal came out with a hot
hand and the Cougars came out
cold as Wilkes just couldn't find
the range and soon fell behind
by 12 points.
After a few minutes of play,
the tempo changed and the Cou
gars cut the lead to three, but
the return of the cold hand left
them short by 16 points at the
sound of the final gun.
Frank Sanders left the scor
ing with 16 points for the Cou
gars, followed by Kent Law
son with 12.
It was the worst night of the
season for Charles Lawson and
Tony Hayes as they fell way be
low their season’s average in
scoring with only 11 and 7 points
respectively.
