THE VOICE OF WILKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE VOLUME 4, No. 3 Wilkesboro, North Carolina NOVEMBER 17, 1970 HAPPY HOLIDAYS Spoon River Anthology To Be Presented On December 17, 18, and 19, the Wilkes Community College Theatre will present Edgar Lee Master’ SPOON RIVER ANTHO LOGY. The award winning play involves a presentation of 75 epitaphs of the deceased of Spoon River. The cast of 20 actors was sel ected in auditions by the director of the production, Mrs. Zoomie Alexander. All students and the public are invited to attend the per formance. KEN GREENE Leads Freshmen REGGIE WEISNER Sophomore Vice-President Freshmen Have Elections By DEBBIE ELLEDGE As elections for freshman cl ass officers were held, each stu dent was faced with an individual concern for the student govern ment of WCC. After nominations, these were the students running for freshman class officers—Pr esident; Wayne Elliot, Ken Gr eene, and William Nichols; Vice President: Willie Underwood, Je sse Miles, and Scott McSwain; Secretary: Ann Caldwell and Pe ggy Lambert; Treasurer: Becky Beshears and Janet Lyon. Ken Greene was the winner in the race for President, Ann Cal dwell was victorious in the race (Continued on Page Three) Gift Pax Are Here Fall is here again — and so are our free gift-pax kits. Teeth and hair will be brighter this se mester—and it’s free as always. Our campus will again be distr ibuting the free student gift-pax of toilet articles as over 2,000 other colleges and universities throughout the United States have done for the past fifteen years. A good will promotion of leading U.S. manufacturers, the products are packaged by gift-pax, Inc., West Hempstead, N.Y. which ma kes them available to us each semester. Free student gift-pax will be available to the student body in the BOOK STORE. Fill in the card that will be given to you as you go through the line in the business office on registration day. Then take the card to the BOOK STORE for your free gift- pax. There are coed assortments and male oriented product ass ortments as well. The various clients represen ted in each student gift-pax are— Bristol-Myers, Colgate - Palm olive, Proctor & Gamble, Etc.-- with appropriate assortments go ing to male and female students in colorful zodiac designed re usable plastic toilet article kits. Come early (while the supply lasts) and bring your identifi cation (I.D. card) to receive your student gift-pax. VETERANS CLUB FORMS AT WCC The Veterans Club had its me eting on Thursday, November 12, 1970 at 1:00 p.m. in Room 209. The purpose of this meeting was to elect officers. Veterans of the Armed Service with at least 6 months active duty are encouraged to attend and par ticipate in the Wilkes Commu nity College Veterans Club.
