200 TO GRADUATE

GOLFERS DOING WELL — WCC golfers are doing well this year
with two conference wins so far. The team consists of: (1 to r)
front row: Jesse Miles, Jacky Queen, Wayne Welborne, Jeff Isen-
hour, and Billy Milan. Second row: Dean Sigmon, Jim Clumpier,
and Gray Crater.
YOU CAN KEEP THE
GOOD OLD DAYS
Those students who attended
WCC in 1969 know what real
frustration is. They have made
a mad dash for a parking space
and found someone who has
carried his political fence
straddling to parking spaces.
The parking lot extended onto
the driveways, and out to the
highway. Any space big enough
for a Volkswagen was big en
ough for a Cadillac.
The fall of ’70 brought many
changes. Besides the addition
of two new student parking lots,
the school employed a part-time
security guard. Deputy Richard
Jones. Under Deputy Jones’s
watchful eye the chaos has
been transformed to orderly
traffic flow each morning.
Deputy Jones is well pleased
with the cooperation he has re
ceived from the students, say
ing, “They are the finest bunch
of kids I’ve ever worked with.”
Since the beginning of the
year, the number of tickets has
dropped sharply. Among the
most common offenses are: 1.
students parking in the visitors’
and faculty lots, 2. backing into
the curb, 3. parking over the
white line. Students are re
minded there are five lots (A, B,
C, D, and E) for their use and
no other lot should be used at
any time. Deputy Jones states
that speeding has not been a
big problem. Previously, warn
ing tickets were given, but now
there will be no more warning
tickets. The speed limit of
(15 mph) is posted and should
be observed by everyone.
There is no comparison be
tween the past parking situa
tion and the present one. We
congratulate Deputy Jones on a
job well done. Let’s all give
Deputy Jones our complete co
operation for the rest of the
year and try to improve our
traffic record.

A Foolish Question
Man at the gate: Is your
mother home?
Little boy; Say, you don’t
suppose I’m mowing this lawn
because the grass is long do
you'>
Wrong Approach
Golf Pro: "Now just go
through the motions without
driving the ball.”
Beginner: "That’s precisely
the trouble I’m trying to over
come.”
