The Wilkesboro YMCA was the scene of a basketball game on Thursday, February 3, when the Cougars met and matched wits with CVTI, The outcome was an impressive 71 to 56 vic tory for the Cougars. During the first half, it was a neck- and-neck battle for control of the ball, with neither team gaining complete control. How ever, the third quarter saw the Cougars establish a ten-point lead and keep it throughout the remainder of the game. Junior Jackson played an out standing game, performing an excellent job of shooting and rebounding. Roger Billings and Dale Myers both did a fine job of guarding and rebounding. At the time of this article, the record for the Cougars is ten won and nine lost.
