WCC Theater Department And Hotel-Restaurant
Students Present Camelot And Benefit Dinner
On June 5 the WCC Theater
Department and the Hotel-Res-
taurant students teamed up to
raise money for the Robert
McNeill and Carl Haigh Memor
ial Scholarship fund.
The benefit dinner drew over
200 guests, prepared by the
flotel-Restaurant students. Ro
bert Johnson baked bread at the
Sheraton Inn in Hickory where he
is employed. Jim Everhart
traveled to Winston-Salem to pick
up the china, glasses, and much of
the tableware. Desserts were
prepared by Mrs. Betty Lou
Wallace, an instructor at WCC
for cake decorating in the
Continuing Education class. The
desserts were picked up in
Mountain Park. Clyde Broyhill
worked in John Cashion’s kitchen
preparing the hams.
The rest of the crew, Terry
fijorling, James Hawkins, and
Robert Sexton worked in the
preparation, service, and cleanup
of the dinner.
Special thanks go to the
volunteers who helped serve the
meals. Without their help the
benefit dinner could not have
been presented. Special thanks to
Robin Barber, Kevin Cleary,
Lavila Greene, Esther Horton.
Linda McCann, Randy Parsons.
Mary Ramseur. Glenda Sale, and
Jennie Vanhoy.
