Parking Regulations
Your New
CoUege Bookstore
Welcome back and welcome
new students! We have a new self
service bookstore for you, so we
will have to have a few new rules.
As you come into the
bookstore, located in Hayes Hall,
there will be some gold racks
located on your right against the
wall. This is called a book drop.
You will lay your books and
parcels on this rack and pick them
back up as you leave the
bookstore. The bookstore is self
service now and we want you to
come in and browse and enjoy
yourselves. We ask that you do
not smoke or bring food in.
Our hours will be 9:00
a.m.-3:00 p.m. daily, and evening
6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. except on
Friday. If this is not convenient
for you, let us know and we will
work it out.
1. Personnel operating vehicles
on the campus should be
aware of the authorized
speeds, parking spaces and
other regulations.
2. The college access road from
Highway #268 to the parking
lots is under jurisdiction of
the State Highway Depart
ment. Maximum speeds which
are established by the state’s
ordinance are as posted.
3. Driving of vehicles, including
motorbikes, on sidewalks and
unpaved areas of the campus
is prohibited.
4. PARKING: Vehicles may be
parked in the following places:
Lots A, B, C, D, E, and F:
STUDENT PARKING ON
LY Lower Lot and Lot on top
of the hill north of the Tech
nical building is reserved for
Facuhy/Staff Only.
Other: Parking area directly
in front of Thompson Hall is
for Administrative parking
only. Parking area in front of
Hayes Hall is reserved for the
Handicapped Visitors and Ser
vice Vehicles only. (Motor
bikes to be parked in visitors
lots - Two Per Space!)
5. Do not park parallel to a curb.
6. “Back in” parking is prohib
ited due to the fact that it is
time consuming and it
disrupts smooth flowing traf
fic and if cars were allowed to
back in to a parking space the
vehicles back end would be
over the median - thus disrupt
the mowing of grass up to the
median.
7. Vehicle registration sticker
must be displayed on the rear
glass. (Driver’s side, please)
8. Do not block traffic lanes or
other vehicles.
9. FINES: Parking tickets will be
given effective the second day
of classes. A fine of $2.00 is
payable in the College busi
ness Office within 48 hours. If
fines are not paid within the
time limit, records will be
encumbered and the fine will
be increased to $4.00. All
fines must be paid before the
student will be allowed to
register for the next quarter.
‘Parking spaces marked
“Handicapped Parking” is re
served for Handicapped Visit
ors Only. Persons who park il
legally in a Handicapped
space will be subject to a
$1,(XX) fine as per recent state
traffic law.
10. A traffic control officer is on
duty in order to aid you and to
enforce all parking regula
tions.
11. Students and Faculty/Staff
having to drive a vehicle,
other than their vehicle which
has the parking sticker, for
one or two days should see the
traffic control officer and give
him this information in order
to not receive a parking ticket.
They should park in the
regular lot.
