The Stars
By Davina Williams
I’m lying here looking up at the stars
Another night in the back of this old car
So many things running through my head
I wish I had a home
I wish I had a bed
Don’t give up; just give it one more try
You’ll find out you can touch the sky
Nothing’s easy; you’ve got to work to
make the grade
So don’t give up; just give it one more day
I’m lying here looking up at the stars
Another night I have to spend behind bars
So many things running through my head
I wish I had a family
I wish I had a mom and dad
Don’t give up; just give it one more try
You’ll find out you can touch the sky
Nothing is easy; you’ve got to work to
make the grade
So don’t give up, just give it one more day

O’ My Love
By Brandon Marley
0’ my love,
there are so many things
that I,
I want to share with you.
A heart full of thoughtfulness,
A head full of confusion,
A pocket full of dreams
A hand full of friendship,
from me to you.
I share these things with you,
from my mind, heart, and soul
to your thoughts and feelings,
for now and always to the end of
eternity,
let us be one now and forever,
and let us never forget,
how much we gave to each other.
O’ my love.
I’m lying here looking up at the stars
Another night of just me and my guitar
So many things running through my head
I wish I could change things
1 wish it were me instead
Don’t give up; just give it one more try
You’ll find out you can reach the sky
Nothing’s easy; you’ve got to work to
make the grade
So don’t give up; just give it one more day

Success Courses
Continued from Page 2
CC: “How will students learn about what is
involved in these classes/’
Sink; “At the first meeting of the class, the
course syllabus with a description and
schedule will be distributed. Students should
attend the session scheduled at 9:00 a.ta on
Monday, August 18, 1997 in the auditorium
of the John A. Walker Center or the session
scheduled one week
later at noon on Mond^ August 25,1997 in
Room 312.”
CC: “Is there aitything else that you want our
students to know about oiu' new success
courses?’
Sink: “Yes, I would like them to see these
two courses as opportunities for investment in
their future. AC A 111 is a quick look at the
resources available at WCC and exposure to
information which will help students avoid
mistakes which might slow them down.
ACA 118 is a more in-depth examination of
all the skills which have been shown to
increase the likelihood that students will
succeed. Students will see a return on their
investment which reflects the time and effort
they put into the class—no more and no less!
CC: “Thank you Mr. Sink.”
Sink: “Thank you.”
Jamee Thompson was among the lucky
people who got to spend part of the
summer in classes at WCC.
