That problem is speeding', there is a lot of that going on around campus. Since the security officers on campus can t catch or stop everyone that speeds on cam pus, 1 have a suggestion that may help. I think the college should look at putting speed bumps around the campus. Speed bumps would slow down speeds by forcing the vehi cle to slow down or stop to go over one of them. There are places around campus that speed bumps could be used to slow down vehicles. One place is the Student and Learning Resources Building. Students go through the parking lot faster than they should. Once they clear the parking lot and go by the outside of the library, they definitely go over the normal speed limit that we have here on campus. We could use a couple of speed bumps in the parking lot to reduce the speeding there. Another place that could use some speed bumps is the road to the Technical Arts Building. That curve that we all have to go through, you know the one with the orange posts that has the word slow on them. Well, 1 know those were put there for a purpose, but they aren’t working very well by themselves. We need speed bumps there before an accident or something worse happens that could endanger a student or others. To my knowledge there are only speed bumps out around the Tennis Courts, but no where else on campus. The little or ange posts and stop signs are not slowing down campus traf fic and speeding around certain parts of campus continues to be a problem. Students will not begin obeying the 15 mph speed limit around campus until speed bumps are installed. From left to right: Sam Dobson, Hans Daniels, Wes Williams & Josh Mahaffey are alumni of North Iredell H. S. Sam, Hans d Josh are freshmen and are members of the baseball team. They all think that WCC is a great place!
