Due to the overwhelming concern about physical ap
pearance on the part of the students here in this fine institu
tion, the Cougar Cry Staff (or actually just me) has composed
a list of fashion do's and don'ts. Walking around each day, I
encounter a vast array of styles and fashion trends as well as
people who occupy them. Quite frankly, I find some of them
hideous. However, just as many catch my eye and make me
smile. This is only my opinion and I'm sure many of you will
be offended, but at least that means you took the time to read
this fine paper.

WCC Is A Great Place To Learn A Living
By: Sandy Sheets
Joan Hunt left Wilkes Community College in January of
1999 and returned on September 29, 1999 looking for
blood. But Hunt is not angry with anyone at WCC. In fact,
she has only good things to say about the community col
lege she attended. Hunt is a phlebotomist working for the
American Red Cross of Winston-Salem. She was on the
campus of Wilkes Community College with the American
,sRed.Cross Bloodmobile team collecting blood donations at
' the collegejSponsoredbJlSK^d drive. The American Red

I havej il love what I do and I owe my thanks to the col-

Hunt is the daughter of Bobby and Margaret Hunt of
Moravian Falls.
The Phlebotomy course at WCC consists of 180 hours of
classroom training and provides a general overview of
specimens for routine laboratory testing, including drawing
blood for tests. Upon completion of the course, students
are well-trained, proficient, and employable phlebotomists.
