And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by.
And that has made all the difference.
Sv'eettieart Dinner Theatre
The Wilkes Community College Theatre and Ye Host Club are in the final stages of preparation for the annual Sweet
heart Dinner Theatre. A prime rib buffet and two one-act comedies will be presented February 10, 11 and 12 at 6:30 PM in the
John A. Walker Center on the WCC campus.
The plays only will be presented February 9 at 7:00 PM. Reservations are required for all performances and may be
made by calling the Walker Center box office, 838-6260, from 12:30 - 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. Admission for the
plays and buffet are $ 18.95 per seat; February 9 - plays only - $5.00.
The buffet meal will be prepared by the students in the Culinary program under the direction of professors Kimrey Jor
dan and Sean Juengling. In addition to the prime rib, a chicken entree will be offered as well as a variety of vegetables and des
serts. Proceeds from the event will benefit the scholarship fund for culinary and theatre students.
The plays will be directed by second year students Amanda Osborne and Rebecca Duvall.
“Wanted: One Groom,” directed by Ms. Osborne of North Wilkesboro, details a hilarious conver
sation laced with double meanings when a young man answers a want ad for an antique and a pro
spective buyer becomes a prospective groom.
Actors in the play include: Jaclyn Garvin as Phyllis; Nika West as Mr. Shand; Luke
McCloud as Richard Townsend; Brooke Poplin as Kayla Shand; and Meredith Johnson as Mrs.
Shand. Heather Rathey is the stage manager.
“Don’t Get Sassy,” a western comedy, is directed by Ms. Duvall, a native of Ashe County.
Confusion develops when the bank robbery occurs and the sheriff attempts to solve the antics of the
Sassafras Kid.
Roles will be performed by: Mic Finger as Howie; Jennifer Powers as Brother Tranquility;
Tina Powers as the Sheriff; Jeannie Green as The Sassafras Kid; Nat Padgett as the Banker; Byron
